Hamilton sets early pace in Hungary
Lewis Hamilton picked up where he left off last weekend in Germany as he set the fastest time in the first practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest. The McLaren driver outpaced world championship leader Sebastian Vettel by 0.214 seconds with a lap of 1m23.350s, while Fernando Alonso was third fastest for Ferrari. Infiniti has just released the fourth teaser image of its upcoming seven-passenger JX crossover, and while the first, second and third images didn't reveal much, this fourth photo shows a clear view at the vehicle's front fascia. Decidedly more svelte than the larger QX, the JX takes styling cues similar to what we see on the M sedan, and that's certainly not a bad thing. Video: Kia Picanto ad nails the female demographic

Kia wants you to appreciate how much work they did to make the 2012 Picanto not just another small car, but a maximized small car. So their advertising team did something that involved a month of work and 1,200 bottles of nail polish to paint animations on 900 press-on nails. The Picanto in the image above didn't happen with CG keystrokes, but with a tiny brush strokes, and there are 899 others to keep it company.
While we still aren't earmarked to get get the tiny hatchback in the U.S., we can certainly appreciate the creativity that has gone into this spot. Follow the jump for the video, and as Roy Campanella used to ask, "What will they think of next?"

Dani Pedrosa feels he still has to find more speed before Sunday's United States Grand Prix if he is to challenge polesitter Jorge Lorenzo for victory. Although the Hondas of Casey Stoner and Pedrosa start on the front row alongside Lorenzo's Yamaha, the reigning champion was comfortably fastest in qualifying and looked very strong on his longer runs.

In-season testing return edges closer
Formula 1 teams have edged closer an agreement for in-season testing to return in 2012, AUTOSPORT can reveal. FIA president Jean Todt said earlier this year that he was keen for the in-season testing ban to be lifted - as he thought it ridiculous that outfits could do no proper private running once the campaign got underway. Team principals discussed the idea of testing at a meeting of the Formula One Teams' Association (FOTA) at the Nurbugring on Saturday night, with AUTOSPORT understanding that major progress was made in finding a plan that received support from everyone.

Official: First 2012 Audi TT RS delivered in Texas

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2012 Audi TT RS has officially landed in the United States. And there was much rejoicing.
Audi has announced that one Don Istook has purchased the very first American-spec TT RS from Fort Worth Audi in Texas. Istook is a longtime Audi enthusiast, having raced Quattro coupes in the mid-1980s, and in more recent times, S4 and TT models.
The 2012 Audi TT RS is priced from $56,580 (excluding $875 for destination), and it marks the return of the automaker's RS performance line to Yankeeland. The last RS model available on these shores was the RS4 (rest in peace, you stunner). The TT RS will no doubt continue the tradition of Audi's performance monsters, boasting 360 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque from its 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine. This past weekend saw the S.A. Shelby Can-Am championship head to the fastest track in South Africa, the East London Grand Prix circuit. After securing a hard-fought win at the last round at Zwartkops, debuting for new sponsor Hollard Insurance, reigning champion Darryn Lobb was aiming for nothing less than the top step of the podium. After struggling for pace at the previous round, the Kyalami based resident, elected to run the car of Sean Grieve who was unable to make the event. Edwards expecting to move forward
Colin Edwards is confident he can give his home fans something to cheer about this weekend in spite of the fact that the Tech 3 rider could only manage the ninth fastest time during the first day's free practice for the US MotoGP at Laguna Seca. The satellite Yamaha rider reported his YZR-M1 to feel better than it had in previous visits to the California venue and expected to improve his pace further during Saturday.

Historic Jaguars to go on display at Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Earlier this year the Monterey Motorsports Reunion announced that Jaguar would be the featured marque for the 2011 event. Dozens of Jags will be featured in many of the races, including the C-Type, which will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of its win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as the XK120, D-Type and E-Type.
In addition to the cars on track, the Monterey Motorsports Reunion will display a collection of historical Jaguars in the paddock. Perhaps the most notable example will be the 1950 Jaguar XK120 that Phil Hill drove to victory at the very first Pebble Beach Road Race, an event that later relocated to Laguna Seca and evolved into today's Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Also on display will be a 1951 C-Type (again, driven by Phil Hill), an SCCA championship-winning 1974 E-Type, a 1978 Trans-Am XJS and the XJR-9 race car that won Le Mans outright in 1988. Renault may try new exhaust again
Renault is considering giving its rearward facing exhaust layout another trial at the Hungarian Grand Prix, even though it elected not to race it in Germany this weekend. As part of a major update push from the Enstone-based team, it trialled a new Red Bull Racing-style blown diffuser layout in Friday practice at the Nurburgring. Ecclestone named in corruption case
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been named as an involved party in the corruption case involving a former banker during the sale of the Formula 1 back in 2006. Bayerische Landesbank risk manager Gerhard Gribkowsky has been charged with corruption, embezzlement and tax evasion, and is accused of having accepted a $44 million bribe. German prosecutors allege that Ecclestone received $41.4 million in commissions from the bank.

Nasr receives post-race penalty
British Formula 3 championship leader Felipe Nasr has been penalised 30 seconds for disrespecting the circuit limits during this morning's reversed grid race at Paul Ricard. After surviving a chaotic aborted first start, despite getting clattered by T-Sport's Bart Hylkema, Nasr raced to a ninth place finish in the shortened six-lap re-run. The Carlin driver's penalty, for gaining an unfair advantage by exceeding the track limits, drops him to 16th in the final classification
