Beijing event to be non-points race

This weekend's Superleague Formula round at Beijing in China will be non-championship, as the all-new street circuit around the 2008 Olympic Games rowing arena has failed to gain the required FIA Grade 2 status. A section of track between Turns 5 and 6 is deemed too narrow for the FIA's regulations, even run under yellow flags, so the event will run as a Chinese national race, which means points cannot be given out. The ?280,000 prize money will be awarded, and a 19-car grid is confirmed for the three races
