Crash ?won?t hamper? Ricciardo
The ISR team is confident that driver Daniel Ricciardo can compete for victory in this afternoon's Formula Renault 3.5 race at Spa, despite his frightening high speed spin at Eau Rouge in qualifying. Andersson cautious for Italy
M-Sport Stobart driver P-G Andersson has downplayed his second World Rally Championship outing of the season, stating that he's only looking to get close to the top five on next week's Rally d'Italia. Andersson led this year's WRC opener, his home event in Sweden, before crashing and dropping more time with a puncture. On his gravel debut in the Fiesta, he has warned spectators that he will be taking a more considered approach to the event.

Hamilton still set to make Clio race
Nicolas Hamilton may still be able to take part in tomorrow's Renault Clio Cup race, despite a heavy accident during practice at Thruxton today. The younger brother of Formula 1 ace Lewis Hamilton started his car racing career this season, driving for Total Control Racing in the British Touring Car Championship-supporting Clio Cup. Hamilton lost control of his car at the 100mph Goodwood corner late in the morning session at the high-speed circuit.

Motus hits the track with MST-01 and MST-R

The last time we heard from the Motus crew, they were packing up their gear and hitting the road for a long trip designed to put both the MST-01 and the MST-R through their paces. Now it would seem that the American-built bikes recently put in some time on the track with the suspension gurus from Ohlins to get the kit sorted before full production kicks off. Fortunately for us, they brought along a video crew to document the action and give the whole world a sample of exactly what a pushrod V4 sounds like.
We like what we hear.
So, how long will it be before you can get your hands on either bike? Motus isn't handing out any set dates just yet, but the company does say that it's currently shopping for dealers. If you think there's a dealer in your area that might be into selling American-made sport tourers with 160 horsepower on tap and an Ohlins-tuned suspension, drop Motus a line. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has completed its first test of mainstream plug-in vehicles, and both the 2011 Chevrolet Volt and the 2011 Nissan Leaf have were named "Good" for their front, side, rear, and rollover crash protection. Testing procedures for these plug-in vehicles were exactly the same as for any other automobile the IIHS tests, as they should be.
The two plug-in pioneers join 80 other 2011 vehicles in earning the Top Safety Pick title, thanks to their fine performance in instrumented crash testing and their standard electronic stability control. For what it's worth, other fuel sippers like the 2010 Toyota Prius and 2010 Honda Insight have also been named Top Safety Picks in the past. That said, the IIHS has taken issue with some plug-in electric vehicles in the past, specifically the not-quite-a-car NEVs like the Gem e2 or the Wheego Whip.
Of course, we all know how much fun it is to watch brand-new cars being smashed to bits in the name of safety, so we've gone ahead and embedded a video of the two plug-ins undergoing the crash testing process. Hit the jump to see for yourself and to check out the official press release.

Fox Marketing has given Lexus' entry-level hybrid some much-needed teeth, adding an Eaton supercharger to the 2011 CT 200h. The huffer forces air through a Climax Racing intake manifold, helping the CT's 1.8-liter four pot crank out 300 high-voltage ponies.
Fox also says it beefed up the car's batteries, but details on what exactly the company did are nil. The added power means the CT 200h has to work a little harder to stay pointed in the right direction, which Fox addressed with a full-on custom suspension and enormous Baer brakes. The 13-inch Baers sit behind a set of 20-inch wheels sporting a huge offset and healthy 225/30-series meats up front and 255/30s at the back.
You'd think that a 300-horsepower hybrid would make an excellent sleeper, but that's just not Fox Marketing's style. Instead, it cloaked the little Lexus in metallic burnt orange paint, and draped it in a wide body kit, featuring huge three-inch fender flares. Inside, there's a set of Yonaka racing seats complemented with LED Lexus logos on the door panels. Check out a video clip of the car after the jump.

FIA considering tweak to running order
The FIA is considering a change of regulation ahead of the next round of the World Rally Championship to reverse the running order on rallies. The top 15 crews after day one of world rallies were reversed until the end of the event, before a regulation change at the start of 2008, which meant the cars ran in championship order on day one and rally order on days two and three. Citroen team principal Olivier Quesnel railed against this last season and raised the issue in Jordan last week, where he felt Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen were ruled out of the fight because they had to run first on the road.

Kubica set to leave hospital
Robert Kubica is set to leave hospital within the next 10 days to begin the next phase of the rehabilitation process that he hopes will get him back into Formula 1. The Pole has been at the Santa Corona hospital in Italy since the rally crash in February that left him with serious arm and leg injuries. Robert Kubica is set to leave hospital within the next 10 days to begin the next phase of the rehabilitation process that he hopes will get him back into Formula 1. The Pole has been at the Santa Corona hospital in Italy since the rally crash in February that left him with serious arm and leg injuries. Speaking to the official Renault F1 website on Thursday, Kubica said that he intends to return home to Monaco soon - before moving to the Formula Medicine clinic in Italy to continue his recovery

Kotaro Sakurai will not compete in the final two British Formula 3 races of the weekend at Monza today after crashing heavily during yesterday's first race.
